Wedding Policy

Searching for the perfect place to celebrate the wonderful sacrament of marriage? Lake Logan is a serene setting for the wedding of your dreams. Finding the right place is one of the hardest decisions when it comes to planning a wedding. What could be prettier than getting married lakeside or in our Celebration Hall surrounded by these majestic mountains? We here at Lake Logan Episcopal Center are here to assist you in making this most blessed day extra special.

All amenities needed beyond the facility and space itself will need to be handled by the couple or their family. LLEC staff are pleased to provide names and telephone numbers of local vendors that you might need, including florists, rental companies, musicians, photographers and caterers. In the case of inclement weather with an outdoor wedding, every effort will be made by LLEC staff to provide an alternate site, subject to the needs of our other groups.

Because we are a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina, Lake Logan Episcopal Center encourages the use of the sacraments of the Church in accordance with the canons of the Episcopal Church. However, we do welcome people of different denominations/religions to have their ceremonies at LLEC. Prior to officially booking the site, couples need to get the approval from the Bishop for the ceremony. As soon as we receive confirmation from the Bishop’s office that the proposed ceremony is approved, we will confirm the reservation. Unfortunately, due to the nature of our business, we cannot hold dates for weddings until the approval has come from the Bishop’s office. The staff of LLEC will work closely with the Bishop’s office to facilitate prompt processing of requests. Contact information for the Bishop’s office is:

The Rt. Rev. G. Porter Taylor
900B Centre Park Drive
Asheville, NC 28805

All receptions/banquets held in the Dining Hall are to be catered by LLEC. The chefs and kitchen staff at LLEC would love to cater your event. We have a minimum charge of $25 per person. Events that are held in other parts of the property can be catered by another caterer. If you choose to use a caterer other than LLEC there is a fee of 10% of the food bill. This fee is over and above the facility fee.

LLEC observes the Diocesan liquor policy. Only those of legal age will consume alcoholic beverages. Alternate beverages must be provided for all guests. It is our expectation that alcohol will be consumed in moderation. Respecting the integrity of other groups, each group will confine the use and storage of alcoholic beverages to its own assigned spaces. Taking alcoholic beverages to the Dining Hall is not permitted unless prior approval of the Executive Director is given. Our policy is that only beer and wine be served.

Because there are so many details to keep track of with a wedding, LLEC asks that arrangements be made through one contact person. This person and the bride and groom will meet with the Executive Director. This helps to prevent misunderstandings with regards to what is wanted and expected from both parties.

Receptions and social gatherings must conclude by 10:00pm. LLEC observes a mandatory quiet time from 10:00pm until 7:00am.

Facility Fee: $2000.00

A non-refundable deposit of $1000 is required at the time the wedding date is reserved. We do ask that the grounds be left the way they were found upon your arrival. If things are not left in order you will be billed a cleanup fee of $10 per person. This will be added to the final bill and is at the discretion of our Executive Director.
