Be the Artist of Your Life!

Come join Mary How and Julie Mayson at Lake Logan’s Mandalas and Movement Retreat where you will participate in mindfulness practices through art and yoga. The focus of this retreat will be learning to be intentional with your thoughts, words, and actions in order to create more of the life you were born to live. You’ll learn practical mindfulness skills and leave feeling energetic yet peaceful about starting or deepening your own practice at home. Be sure to bring your dream/art journal, yoga mat, and a blanket. All other materials provided.

Program Lead Mary How, MA, ATR-BC

Mary How, MA, ATR-BC is an artist, board-certified art therapist, and emotional wellness coach with 20+ years of experience helping people navigate deeply emotional issues with art, creativity, and love. Mary uses a unique combination of cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, and art in her coaching and skills courses to help people overcome painful life experiences.

As an artist, Mary uses mandalas, or sacred circles, to move healing energy within her work and the world around her. She creates mandalas of varying sizes and forms including pen, acrylic paint, chalk, and natural materials. In her daily, personal meditation practice she creates small mandala circle drawings with fine point markers. Mary also facilitates community-based art installations by creating extra-large mandalas alongside community members as a way to teach skills and bring healing to her community.

Program Lead Julie Mayson

Julie Mayson is a 500-RYT yoga instructor trained in Hatha, kundalini, meditation, and kriya. She is also certified in Spiritual Direction, SoulCollage®, and Astrology.

Julie’s experience and training over the years has taught her to evoke the mystery within and see each day with new eyes in an endless process of discovery and surprise. Her goal is to meet you where you are and offer various avenues toward connecting with one’s true essence in a fun and effective embodiment of the spirit.

Overnight

2 nights (Friday-Sunday), rates are per person, taxes included

Options are available for nonparticipating guests and for early stay and later stay.

Nonparticipating Guest: $272

Early Stay (Thursday night with 3 meals and evening program): $156

OPTIONAL & ADDITIONAL Thursday, Jan. 2nd – 3 PM cabin check-in. However, the program will not begin until after dinner.

  • 7 PM: Creating Alter & Cosmic Walk
  • 9 PM: Free Time

Friday, Jan. 3rd – 3 PM cabin check-in. The program will begin at 4 PM.

  • 8 AM: Breakfast (for Thursday overnight guests)
  • 12 PM: Lunch (for Thursday overnight guests)
  • 3 PM: Cabin Check-In
  • 4 PM: Introductions
  • 5 PM: Energy Invoking Yoga
  • 6 PM: Dinner
  • 7 PM: Forest bathing
  • 8:15 PM: Dreaming a new story for your life and introduction to nightly dream work/Mandala mind map
  • 10 PM: Satsang (call and response)
  • 10:30 PM: Goodnight

Saturday, Jan. 4th

  • 8 AM: Breakfast
  • 9 AM: Dream recall with writing and mandala journaling
  • 10:30 AM: Master the Ego with Yoga Breath work and Hip Opening practices
  • 12 PM: Lunch
  • 1-3 PM: Individual Practice (mindful walking, creating, resting, or connecting… you choose!)
  • 3 PM: Finding and Embodying your Treasures (scribble, characters/charms, bright shadows)
  • 4:30 PM: Expanding Vision Yoga Practice: Dropping out of Mind and Into Heart Space
  • 6 PM: Dinner
  • 7:15 PM: Mandalas and Movement
  • 9 PM: Evening Meditation
  • 9:15 PM: Social with music and wisdom talk

Sunday, Jan. 5th  – Cabin check-out is at 10 AM. However, the program will continue through lunch.

  • 9:30 AM: Dream recall with writing and mandala journaling
  • 10:30 AM: Strengthening the Aura Yoga Practice
  • 11:30 AM: Closing: Taking Your Practice Home
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch and goodbye
